Hunting Properties We Offer For Sale or Lease
560 Acres...Rice County, KS. "Whitetail Heaven."
This land is located just one mile east of the
22,000 acre Quivara National Wildlife Refuge.
This Refuge is home to thousands of migrating
Central Flyway waterfowl each fall. The big
plus of the proximity of the Refuge to the 560
acres is the Enormous Whitetail Population it
supports. This, coupled with the fact that Big
Game Hunting is not allowed on the Refuge, provides
the surrounding properties with a continuous
supply of high quality whitetail bucks, sporting
World Class racks. If you are a serious Deer
hunter, you understand that during the "Rut",
it is nothing for a buck to travel miles in
search of a doe in heat. The 560 acres is in
native grass, with acres of large cottonwood
and cedar trees, plum thickets, two good size
ponds, and numerous watering holes. In addition
to three working wells which supply the ponds,
we have established four fenced "food plots"
with high quality alfalfa , wheat, and milo.
From a Sportsman's view point, this land also
has another outstanding feature. There is only
one road into or out of the land. This is a
one mile, abandoned township road. All four
sides of this property have a one mile buffer,
without public roads.....giving complete privacy
and undisturbed hunting. Turkey , Quail, and
Mallard Ducks, round out the hunting opportunities.
This property will produce an annual income
from all sources of approximately $20,000/yr.
(Land is fenced and cross fenced to prevent
overgrazing) 480 Acres..."Waterfowl Heaven."
Located in Northeastern Stafford County, KS.,this
property is just ½ mile south of the "Great
Salt Marsh" of the Quivara National Wildlife
Refuge. The "marsh" is a large lake of approximately
2500 acres, which is the main resting area for
the thousands of geese, ducks, cranes, shore
and songbirds, which use the Central Flyway
each fall. The enormous Agricultural farm ground
base which surrounds the Refuge, provides thousands
of acres of wheat, corn, sorghum, and alfalfa
for the visiting waterfowl to feed on each day
of their stop over. Located on the 480 acres
are two shallow water ponds, each between one
and two acres in size....these are perfect "drop
in" sights for the many ducks that are flying
to and from the Refuge all day. 160 of the acres
is excellent wooded terrain, with perfect deer
habitat.....again the proximity to the National
Refuge, keeps the supply of trophy bucks endless.(
Bowhunters took 160+, and a 180+ score bucks
off this piece in 05) Finally, there are solid
populations of both Turkey and Quail as well.
Annual income from this 480 is in excess of
$17000, not counting any hunting leases. There
are three pumping oil wells located on this
land, producing $7,000+ per year.(included in
the $17,000.) For complete information, and
detailed maps..regarding either purchase or
lease, Please contact Tom Turner of St. John,
